Marie Thelma Walker Orr

Mrs. Marie Thelma Walker Orr age 73 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday June 04, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday June 8, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Myles Brown, Reverend Randall Reed and Reverend Steve Fenlon will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday June 06, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday June 07, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Orr was born on August 05, 1942 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Pledger Walker and Grace Porter Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Oakwood. Marie was active in the senior ministry at First Baptist Church of Oakwood and was a friend to everyone she met. She had a servant’s heart and was a loving mother to many. She was active throughout her life and died peacefully in her bed. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Kelsey Orr, and sister, Mildred Brown.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Jeff Howington of Jefferson, daughter, Sheila Skinner of Jefferson, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Eric Wall of Statham, daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Shawn Migliore of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, John and Teresa Orr of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Norma Garner of Oakwood, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Movine and Billy Wingo Gainesville.
