Marion “Bunny” Martin Ayers

Marion “Bunny” Martin Ayers passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, following a period of declining health.

Bunny was born July 18, 1921, in Gainesville, GA, to the late Ben and Ada (Day) Martin. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Ayers; brothers, Herbert Martin, Harry Martin, and James Martin; sister, Mary H. Waldrip and other family members.

A graduate of the Perry Business School locally and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas, she was a devoted Youth and Education Director at many churches in Georgia, and later Activities Director at the Baptist Inn when it was in Stockbridge. All the youth at the churches where she worked were her “children.”

She is survived by four stepchildren, eleven nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the Bell Minor Home staff in Gainesville for their excellent care over the past 18 months.

The graveside service will be held at 2 PM Friday, June 10, at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Tony Neal officiating. A Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, June 12, at 3 p.m. at Pine Crest Baptist Church, Gainesville with Rev. Doug Couch and Rev. Tony Neal officiating.
