Joseph Herman Newsom

Joseph Herman Newsom, 77, of Dacula, GA died on June 7, 2016.  Born in Sandersville, GA he was the son of the late Joshua and Wilma Newsom.

He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway, where he was Director of Applications Programming.  Herman also enjoyed teaching part time at Dekalb Technical College, where he taught Computer Science classes.  He was an avid golfer.  Herman was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family.

Herman is survived by his wife, Paula Newsom of Dacula, GA; sons, Joseph Brett (Kelli) Newsom of Peachtree Corners, GA, Joshua Alan (Angelica) Newsom of Buford, GA and Joshua (Rose) Pile of Gainesville, GA; and much-loved grandchildren, Brandon Herrera, Mikala Newsom, Claudia Newsom and C.J. Newsom.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2016 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
