John Riley Guice

John Riley Guice, age 90, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

Mr. Guice was born on July 2, 1926, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Lloyd Percy and Elizabeth Riley Guice. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Fowler Guice. Mr. Guice was a United States Navy Veteran who proudly served his country during World War II. He later served his country again in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. John was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Bonnie L. Guice, Lawrenceville, GA; son, David L. Guice, Chamblee, GA; and granddaughter, Riley Elizabeth Guice.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Ginny Dempsey officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy, the Habersham County American Legion Post #84, the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, and the Rabun County DAV Chapter #15.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at the funeral home.
