Ruby L. Baker

Mrs. Ruby L. Baker age 93 of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Hope Memory Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday July 22, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Pinecrest Baptist Church with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Mrs. Baker will lie in state at the church from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Dr. Bart McMillian will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 21, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  

Mrs. Baker was born on August 28, 1922 in Gainesville, Ga to the late R. Leonard Wiley and Minnie Savage Wiley. She was retired as a clerk for J and J Foods and was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a number of brothers and sisters. 

She is survived by her husband of 75 years, John Rudolph Baker of Gainesville, sons and daughter-in-laws, Jimmy and Joanne Baker of Gainesville, Tommy and Carol Baker of Oakwood, brother, Leonard Wiley of Clermont, 5 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
