Ruth Alene Turner

Ruth Alene Turner, 86, of Oakwood passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. 
    Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Phil Carpenter and Reverend Dick Shorr will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Mrs. Turner was born on December 4, 1929 in Gainesville to the late Thomas Martin and Ola Mae Gilleland. She was a homemaker and a member of Chicopee Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Turner; sister, Beulah Clark; brothers, Roy Martin, Ernest “Flop” Martin, Charles “Gene” Martin and Jerry Martin.
    Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Vivian and James Dover of Oakwood, Teresa and Jimmy Grant of Oakwood; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Darcie Turner of Oakwood; grandchildren, Misty and Joel Murphy of Gainesville, Melony Dover of Oakwood, Chad Grant of Oakwood, Bradley Grant of Oakwood, Marcy and J.P Morris of Oakwood; great grandchildren, T.J. Murphy of Gainesville, Austin Varno of Oakwood, Wyatt Grant of Norcross; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Hal Hughes of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, Loyd and Ellen Martin of Gainesville.
