June Marble Smith

June Marable Smith, age 72, of Athens died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Smith was born in Athens to the late, James Robert and Sarah Virginia Evans Marable.  Mrs. Smith retired from the University of Georgia, she was a member of Joy Baptist Church, and she was a huge Georgia Football fan.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, F.L. Smith; son, Robert Leroy Smith; and brothers, John, Rollin, Robert, and Phillip Marable.     

Mrs. Smith is survived by her sons, Patrick Smith (Beth) of Nicholson and Philip G. Smith of Athens; grandsons, Mitchell, Casey, Tucker, Hunter, and Jackson Smith; brothers, Carey Marable of Maxeys, GA, Roy Marable of AL, and Thomas Marable of Athens, GA; sisters, Virginia Whited of Douglasville and Ruth Daniels of AL.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9^th at 11:00 AM from Howington cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday night from 5-8 PM.
