Mrs. Bessie Mae Brookshire

Mrs. Bessie Mae Brookshire age 88 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday August 27, 2016 at Bell Minor Nursing Home following an extended illness.

            Mrs. Brookshire was born on August 25, 1928 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Newt Aikens and Dora Berry Aikens. She was a housewife and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Red Smith, son, Larry Eugene Brookshire, and daughter, Rebecca Brookshire.

            Mrs. Brookshire is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Marion Brookshire of Gainesville, grand-daughter, Xan Williams of Gainesville, grand-daughter and husband, Tangee and Josh Puckett of Flowery Branch, daughter-in-law, Edna Merle Brookshire, great-grandchildren, Hannah and Zoe Puckett and Devin Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends.
