William Winford Shirley

Mr. William “Bill” Winford Shirley, age 82, of Commerce died Friday, September 2, 2016.  Mr. Shirley was born in Homer to the late, W.T. and Margie Shirley.  Mr. Shirley was the retired owner of the Pancake House Restaurant and Skate-A-Rama and he was also a US Air Force veteran.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Shirley was also preceded in death by his son, Clinton Shirley.

Mr. Shirley is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Parr Shirley of Commerce, daughters, Tammy Sexton of Ocala, FL and Betty Lane Owensby of Nicholson; sons, Dean Shirley of Commerce, Jimmy Shirley of Cornelia, Greg Shirley of Hollywood, GA, and Ricky Wood of Nicholson; brother, Charles Shirley of Cornelia; sisters, Christian Pritchett and Virginia Chastain both of Cornelia; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held Monday, Sept. 5^th at 11:00 AM from Grey Hill Cemetery with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4-6 PM.
