Douglas Foster

Douglas Foster, age 73, passed away Monday September 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born February 24, 1943 the son of the late Ira Frank and Blonie Lee Forester Foster. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Paul Foster, Sam Foster, Robert Foster, Ray Foster, Jack Foster, and Andy Foster and two sisters, Peggy Ramey, and Velma Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Foster of the home. One son, Rick (Rebecca) Foster of Smithfield, Va.; one daughter, Tammy (Thomas) Ivester of Clayton, Ga.; two brothers, Lester Foster of Rabun Gap, Ga. and Donald Foster of Toccoa, Ga.; also surviving are his three grandchildren, Josh Foster, Bartly Ivester and Jacob Ivester.

Doug was a member of Tiger Baptist Church. He loved his family and his church; he worked at A.I.D. for many years and was a lifelong resident of  Rabun County.

The family will receive friends on Thursday September 15, 2016 from 6pm until 8pm at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday September 16, 2016 at 3 pm at Beck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt, Rev. Avery Lawrence officiating. Interment service will follow in the Harvey Cemetery with Rev. David Crunkelton officiating.
