Clyde Gilbert “Gib” Cronic

Mr. Clyde Gilbert “Gib” Cronic age 66 of Oakwood passed away on Wednesday October 19, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday October 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Danny Newbern will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday October 21, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Cronic was born on October 20, 1949 in Duluth, Ga to the late Clyde Cronic Jr. and Mary Bess Simpson Cronic. He served four years with the U.S. Air Force, after leaving the Air Force in 1976 he was employed with Gainesville Police Department and Forsyth County Police Department. In 1980 Lt. Gib Cronic joined the Hall County Sheriff’s Department where he was employed for 23 years and then retired after all those years of faithful service. Lt. Gib Cronic was of the Baptist Faith. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Cronic is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jason Hatcher of Oakwood, daughter and son-in-law, Alexis Cronic- Beam and Austin Beam of Oakwood, daughter, Maryann Cronic of Tennessee, daughter, Emma Chestine Cronic of Oakwood, Son, Michael Timothy Gib Cronic of Oakwood, grand-daughters, Sydney Earp, Morgan Hatcher, Madysen Hatcher, Makenna Hatcher, and Taylor Jade Webb, grand-sons, Austin Earp and Jaxon Shea Cronic, sister, Nancy Maranda Braselton of Gainesville, nephews, Nathaniel David Braselton, Dylan Braselton and Mason Braselton both of Flowery Branch.
