Leon "Pop's" Young

Leon "Pop's" Young was born October 20 1940 in Hall County Georgia to the late Lawton Young and Ella Mae Mapp Young. He departed this life on October 24 2016 following a sudden illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue (Ware) Young, Three brothers Willie E. (Bill) Young, Dennis (Moto) Young, and Terry Young. Leon was a truck driver for 25 years for Parrison Dunlap Inc. Some of Leon’s other work was with Days Inn and served as a cook at Nickerson Drive In. Leon move to Jacksonville Florida in 2003 and made that his home for the last thirteen years and while there he made many new friends and remain active enjoy the remainder of his life. He leaves to cherish his memories to 2 daughters and 1 son – in law, LaQuettia Young Mincey, (Pastor Randy D. Mincey) of Gwinnet County, Julia M. Young Hall County, 5 sons and 2 Daughter In laws, Alvin Young, Calvin Young, Troy Young, (Ariga), Vincent Young all of Hall County, Paul Young (Jessie) Jacksonville Florida. He also leaves to cherish 31 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren 7 great great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish, 2 sisters 1 brother in law, Elouise Young Sheats, Catherine (Kit)Young Reid (Riley) 2 brothers and 2 sister in laws Raymond Young (Dorothy), Frank Young (Jo Ann) and host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Who will miss him very dearly.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Cross Plains Baptist Church at 11:00 AM.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2016 between the hours of 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM at Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home Chapel.  Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home.
