Mr. Aaron J. Nix, age 83 passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Peck and Rev. Lanier Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Worship Center cemetery.
Mr. Nix was born in White County, Georgia on September 11, 1933 to the late William Osborn Nix and Onie Hunt. After graduating from high school, Mr. Nix honorably served his country in the United States Air Force as a Airman 1st class. A number of years after returning home, Mr. Nix Co-founded H&N Sanitation where he later retired from in 1988. Mr. Nix spent the next 17 years selling antiques and collectables at local flea markets. Mr. Nix was a member of Welcome Worship Center. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nix is preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Nix and his brothers, Marion Nix and Gordon Nix.
Mr. Nix is survived by his wife, Jimmie Nell Smith Nix of Dahlonega; Son and daughter in law, Alan and Joyce Nix of Dahlonega; Brothers, Ellis Nix of Sautee, and Avery Nix of Clarkesville; Sisters, Birdie Nix of Cleveland, Georgia Lou Tipton of Clarkesville, and Eula Mae Oliver of Dacula; Grandchildren Kim and Kevin Stephens, Mark and Brooke Nix, Jessica and Lamar Jarrard, and Justin and Alissa Turner; Great grandchildren, Kendra and Garrett Stephens, Layla and Lizah Mae Turner, Lincoln Turner, John Wilder Nix and Lucas Jarrard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 5 to 8 P.M.
