Larry W. Herrington

Mr. Larry W. Herrington, age 78, of Colbert, Georgia, formerly of Buford, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at his residence with family.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. Steve Parker and Rev. Hoyt Huff will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016.

Mr. Herrington was born September 10, 1938 to the late Carl W. & Mattie Mae Herrington in Lawrenceville.  A graduate of Lawrenceville High School and North Georgia College, he served in the Air Force from 1959 – 1967 as a Medical Service Specialist.   Mr. Herrington was a member of Erastus Christian Church in Commerce and retired from GBM Building Maintenance, where he had had been the Director of Environmental Services.  He loved the outdoors, his dogs and was an avid deer hunter.

Mr. Herrington is survived by his wife of 16 years, Fern Herrington of Colbert; son & daughter-in-law, Egon & Tara Herrington of Braselton; step-daughter, Karla Sue Joyce of Waveland, Indiana; grandchildren, Brandie& Eddie Negron of Braselton and Erik & Whitney Herrington of Gainesville; great-granddaughters, Aubrey Negron and McKinley Negron; and brother James Robert Herrington of Fair Play, South Carolina.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl W. Herrington & Mattie Mae Bullock Herrington; and brother, Morris Herrington.
