Vance D Swafford

On November 14, 2016 Mr. Vance D. Swafford went home to meet his Lord and Savior. Mr. Swafford was 80 and lived in Oakwood and was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Dave Fahner will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Swafford was born on October 17, 1936 in Shelby, North Carolina to Sherman Delmar Swafford and Gaynelle Bridges Swafford.

Mr. Swafford is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mr. Swafford is survived by his wife, Doris Swafford; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Rettig (Jack) of Gainesville; Son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Swafford (Miki) of Gainesville; grandson and wife, Tony Beheler (Sybil) of Oakwood; grandson and wife, Chris Beheler (Kim) of Monroe; granddaughter and husband, Leigh Dyer (Brad) of Hoschton; grandson, Matt Swafford of Flowery Branch; granddaughter, Leslie Swafford of Gainesville; Mark (Sonny Boy) Cain beloved caregiver and friend of Flowery Branch; and, ten great-grandchildren.
