Cody Michael Roper

Mr. Cody Michael Roper, age 26 of Lula, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after battling cancer for over a year. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Charles Grant will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5 – 8 pm and Friday, December 2, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

            Mr. Roper was born June 14, 1990 in Gainesville, Georgia to Michael Lewis Roper and Kimberly Hubbard Roper.  He was employed with Walgreens and was of the Baptist Faith.  Cody was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberly Hubbard Roper and his grandfathers, Lewis Roper and Merriel Browning.

            Mr. Roper is survived by his wife, Kristy Roper of Lula, his daughter, Lakelynn Roper of Lula, his father & step-mother, Michael & Marsha (Black) Roper of Lula, sister, Chastity Roper of Lula, grandmother, Nancy Browning of Lula, his two nieces, Jaci Roper and Kenlee Roper, both of Lula, step-sister, Faith Black of Lula, uncle & aunt, Daniel & Amanda Hill of Danielsville, Georgia and many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. 

One lives in hope of becoming a known memory.  That is exactly how Cody lived his life.  He was such an inspiration and an influential person.  Cody showed people that no matter how high the odds are stacked against you to never give up.  To always fight and keep a positive attitude.  May his wonderful life influence everyone to cherish every moment.
