Marshall Laverne Stephens

Obituary Date: Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Marshall Laverne Stephens

July 28, 1929 – November 30, 2016

Proud son of Cranford Alexander & Eva Stephens along with five brothers and sisters.  Born in New Holland, GA.

Stephens served in the Air Force during the Korean War while stationed in Alaska. He worked with incoming and outbound aircraft communicating Morse Code. Marshall retired from FPL after an accident many years ago. Marshall possessed a dry sense of humor leaving family members laughing for hours. He remained alert until the Lord’s calling and spent time daily solving cross word puzzles from the New York Times.  Marshall was fiercely independent, and for his age was spry and proud.  He loved his precious Dachshund Lilly, who accompanied Marshall everywhere. Stephens lived in Miami, FL most of his life and enjoyed swimming in his backyard pool. In 2004 Marshall relocated to Dillard, GA where he enjoyed the mountains and social life in the RV Resort he resided until his recent relocation to Lanier Lodge.

Stephens is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who he remained in contact with until his passing.
