Rev. James C. Clayton

Rev. James C. Clayton, age 86 of Buford, GA died Tuesday, December 6, 2016 after an extended illness. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Joey Wigley and Rev. Danny Hyatt will officiate. Interment will follow at Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, December 9, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Eula Clayton; sister, Vester Applin; brother, Willie Clayton; brother and sister in-law, A.J. and Elizabeth Clayton. He is survived by his wife, Lessie Clayton, Buford; daughters, Linda Clayton, Buford, Libbie Dodd and husband Wayman, Buford; grandchildren, Amanda Curry and husband Scott, Wesley Dodd and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Ansley Curry, Sidney Curry; Sisters, Darlene Slaton, Flowery Branch, May Dover and husband JG, Ellijay, Dolly Hamby, Dalton; Mr. Clayton was born in Ellijay, GA. He worked several years for the City of Sugar Hill and retired from the City of Buford. Rev. Clayton was a pastor and minister for 61 years and was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
