David L. Dowdy

David L. Dowdy, age 54 of Cumming, went to be with the lord on December 15, 2016 after a heroic battle with cancer. David was born on April 16, 1962 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James C. Dowdy and Geneva Seritt Dowdy. 

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Tanya and Jason Pittman; sons Brandon Dowdy, Austin Dowdy, and Dylan Dowdy; daughter-in-law Cheryl Dowdy; brother Kenneth Dowdy, brother and sister-in-law Steve and Laura Dowdy; nephews Jason Dowdy and James Dowdy; niece Jessica Dowdy; granddaughters Katelyn Hester, Ansley White, Alyssa White, and Alexis Dowdy. He is also survived by many friends he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, to help fund research to find a cure for cancer.
