Jewell Weaver Scott

Mrs. Jewell Weaver Scott, age 81 of 1430 Black Mountain Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late Hillard and Bessie Finley Weaver, she was born August 20, 1935 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life.  She was a homemaker, a member of Old Toccoa Baptist Church and the Sara Richards Sunday School Class.  She loved cooking for her community, gardening and her grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt C. Scott in 2013, two sons, Dale and Danny Scott, two brothers, Donald and Burley Weaver and by a sister, Joyce Weaver.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and David Wood of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Annette Scott of Demorest; four grandchildren, Daniel Scott, Jeremy Scott, Jonathan Wood and Lindsey Wood and one great grandchild, Klay; three brothers and sister-in-law, James and Barbara Weaver of Thomaston, Georgia, Bennie Weaver of Habersham County and Howard Weaver of McAllen, Texas; three sisters, Mary Collins and Quennie Mae Rider both of Toccoa and Merle Chitwood of Dalton, Georgia; sister-in-law, Sue Scott of Demorest; brother-in-law, Harold Walker of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 22, 2016, 11 O’clock AM in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Roger Elrod and The Reverend Bill Evans officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Daniel Scott, Jeremy Scott, Jonathan Wood, Freddie Finley, Ronnie Collins and Harold Simmons.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM until 8 PM.  Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jewell Weaver Scott.
