John Whitmire

Mr. "J D" John Daniel Whitmire age 92 of Gainesville passed away on Saturday December 31, 2016 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Sunday, January 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church. Reverend Earl Pirkle and Reverend Mike Dourgh will be officiating the service.

Mr. Whitmire was born on March 2, 1924 in Gainesville to the late Dan and Pauline Westmoreland Whitmire, he was retired from insurance sales where he was an agent for Independent Life.  Mr. Whitmire was a member of Central Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Parks Whitmire, sister, Angela Martin; brother, Fletcher Whitmire, George “Sonny” Whitmire and Danny Whitmire.

Mr. Whitmire is survived by his wife, Lola O’Neal-Whitmire; son, Greg Whitmire of Gainesville; son, Ricky Whitmire of Gainesville; granddaughter, Ashley Whitmire Gilley; grandson, Dylan Whitmire, granddaughter, Drew Blakley Whitmire; great granddaughter, Amber Owensby; great grandsons, Joey Thomason,  Garrett Gilley; great granddaughter, Layla Whitmire; brothers, E.I. “Emory” Whitmire, Dwight Whitmire, Rodney Whitmire.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Central Baptist Church 785 Main St SW, Gainesville, GA 30501.
