Lafayette Emanuel Ballew

Mr. Lafayette Emanuel Ballew, age 79 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Oakwood City Cemetery.  Reverend Myles Brown will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 4 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Ballew was born February 1, 1937 in Alto, Georgia to the late Ernest Leonard Ballew and Sarah Gertrude Williams Ballew.  He was retired from ARA Vending and was of the Baptist Faith.  Lafayette was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Ballew.  

Mr. Ballew is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louise Ballew of Gainesville, his children, Ginny & Joey Bugg of Gainesville and Ernest E. & April Ballew of Lula, grandchildren, Michael Jenkins, Cody Bugg, Venora Ballew and Joshlynn Ballew and sisters, Ernestine Duncan of Oakwood and Sarah Holtzclaw of Clermont.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road, Gainesville, GA  30504 is in charge of arrangements.
