Geneva Roper Knight Garrett

Mrs. Geneva Roper Knight Garrett, 91, of Gainesville passed away on February 1, 2017.

 A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Pastor Frank Brock will officiate. Interment will follow in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

 Born on April 3, 1925 in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Claud and Harriett Brogdon Roper. Mrs. Garrett was retired from Coronet Carpet and was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church for more than 60 years.

 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Knight; son, Cleburn Knight; daughter, Joan Knight; brothers; Tilman, Richard, Louie and Charles Roper and sister, Gertrude Arnold.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her daughter and son in law, Martha and Chuck Nida of Gainesville; daughter in law, Joyce Knight of Gainesville; grandchildren, Craig and Jason Knight, Rick and Jenifer Miller, Debbie Mitchell, Raydel and Brad Burford; 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Rogers, Mary Miller, and sister in law, Lenora Roper and a number of other relatives and friends.
