Billie Copher Lewis

Mrs. Billie Copher Lewis, age 79, of Oakwood passed away Monday, February 6, 2017.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with inurnment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. Shannon Wingo and Rev. Jeff Bunett will officiate.   The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lewis was born July 3, 1937 to the late A.C. & Claudine Copher in Oakland, California and a member of Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Big Fork, Arkansas.  She began as a Counselors Aid in 1974 at Johnson High School, then in 1976 was hired as the First Para-Pro for the C.V.A.E Program at Johnson High School and she remained there until 1985.   After leaving Johnson High School in 1985, she continued to work at the family owned Printing Business (Printing Now) until 1991 in Cumming, Georgia.  She then worked for Thomas Printing in Dawsonville until they closed their business and she retired.

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Patti Lewis of Oakwood; daughter & son-in-law, Karla &John Schrader of Gainesville; son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Maria Lewis of Cleveland; grandchildren, Corey & Ashton Schrader, Dylan & Kristen Lewis, Cole & Brittany Schrader, Dakota & Allie Lewis, Ale Grove and Emma Grove; great-grandchildren, Liam Schrader and Cameron Osier; brothers, Ernest Copher of Board Camp, Arkansas and Gerald Copher of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Patsy Lewis of Gainesville.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Winfred Lewis; daughters, Brenda Kay Lewis and Jana Carol Lewis; parents; and brother, James Edmond Copher.
