Marvin James Hanson, Jr.

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Marvin James “Jimmy” Hanson Jr., age 72, of Winder, who passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Mr. Hanson was born in Athens, Georgia, a son to the late Marvin James Hanson Sr. and the late Roberta Whitehead Hanson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hanson is preceded by a sister, Barbara Johnson.  Mr. Hanson was a Commercial Truck Driver for twenty years with Brown Transport.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Lee Hanson of Winder; son, Mitch Hanson and his wife Barbara of Winder, daughter, Kelly Warren and her husband Kevin of Snellville; granddaughter, Kayla Warren of Snellville, sisters, Joan Perry and her husband Ralph of Jefferson, Diane Pruitt and her husband Michael of Commerce; many Nieces and Nephews also survive.

The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Minister John Briscoe officiating. The burial will follow in the Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery with Rodney Johnson, Craig Ervin, Michael Pruitt, Darrell Eavenson, Bill Standard and Kevin Warren honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 5-8 pm at Evans Funeral Home.
