Born May 18, 1923 to the late Eva Mae Moore Phillips and William J. Phillips, Betty was a lifelong resident of Gainesville and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville.  She attended Candler Street and Main Street Elementary schools and graduated from Gainesville High School.  She was married to Henry T. Betty was a devoted mother of two daughters.  She was a member of the Study Club and several Bridge Clubs.  Betty enjoyed lifelong friendships, many dating back to her elementary school days.  Betty and Henry enjoyed traveling with their friends.

Betty worked at Gainesville National Bank before having a family and later at Jackson Electric Membership after her daughters were older.  She was a volunteer for the Family Life Center at First Baptist and Meals on Wheels. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved their visits and calls and photos sent to her cellphone.  Betty had a smile for everyone she came in contact with.

She truly appreciated the care she received from friend and caregiver Carolyn Shanley, nephew Wes Phillips, and the wonderful staff at Ashton Senior Living.
