Clarence W. Dean

Obituary Date: Sunday, March 5, 2017

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 8, 2017 at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel for Clarence W. Dean age 88 of Gainesville. The Rev. Terry Crawford, Rev. Rick Taylor and Rev. John Kinsey will officiate. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Dean passed away Sunday March 5, 2017.

Mr. Dean was born in Habersham County to the late John Edward Dean and Bessie Mae Williams Dean. He retired from the U.S. Army and served 3 tours in Vietnam. He was a member of New Holland Baptist Church and loved coaching little league baseball and softball. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Onree Kinsey Dean, son, Billy Wayne Dean, sister, Virginia Dean, brother, John Edward “Jack” Dean.

Survivors include daughter, Pam Dean, Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Neicy Dean, Gainesville, grandchildren and spouse, Brittany and Matt McCall, Lula, grandchildren, Micah Dean and Makiah Dean, Gainesville, Emmanuel Gomez, Gainesville, and great grandchild, Paisley McCall.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Holland Baptist Church 7 Quarry Street and Jesse Jewell Parkway Gainesville, GA 30501 or Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter 41 Perimeter Center East Suite 550 Atlanta, GA 30346.
