Linwood Earl Jeffries, Jr

Linwood Earl Jeffries, Jr., age 77, of Gainesville passed away Monday, March 6, 2017.  Mr. Jeffries  retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the United States Navy after 22 years of service.  He loved his family and his church.  Survivors include his wife of 27 years Thelma Lush Jeffries; sons Linwood Jeffries, III and wife Carol of FL, Rick Lush and wife Christa of Gainesville; daughter Donna Jeffries of Gainesville; brothers Harry Jeffries of FL,  Michael Jeffries and wife Sharon of Cleveland; grandchildren Ricky Lush, Jr., Charles Lush III and Ashlyn Lush, nieces Ramona Jeffries and Missy Bain and a host of other relatives.  Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Oakwood Baptist Church, 4263 Martin Road, Flowery Branch, GA with Pastor Brian Evans officiating.  The family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the church.  Interment will be held with full military honors 9:00 am Friday, March 10, 2017 at Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, GA, 30114.  In lieu of flowers the family requests contribution be made to Oakwood Baptist Church or to  the Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.  Funeral arrangements by Lawson Funeral Home, 4532 Hwy 53, Hoschton, GA, 30548, www.lawsonfuneralhome.org, 706-654-0966.
