Rev. Dennis Clifford Roper

Rev. Dennis Clifford Roper, 89, of Gainesville Georgia passed away on March 9, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Mayfield Baptist Church, Forsyth County. Reverend Troy Milford and Reverend Gerald Blackburn will officiate. Interment will follow in Mayfield Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on February 17, 1928 in Gainesville, GA, Rev. Roper was the son of the late Clifford Roper and Perlene Reynolds Roper. He was retired as a carpenter. Rev. Roper was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Roper is preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Roper; brothers, Donald Roper, Kenneth Roper and sister, Earnestine Shuler.

Rev. Roper is survived by his wife, Marcile Roper; son, Myron Roper; son and daughter in law, Danny and Mandy Roper; stepsons and wives, Terry and Kay Grier, Gary and Frances Grier; brother, Cecil Roper; sister, Willene Cantrell; grandchildren, Luke and Meisha Roper, Ron and Tasha Roper, Chase and Emily Roper, Heath and Amanda Roper, Holly and Joshua Foreman, Shaye and Chase Wales; great grandchildren, Cheyanne Roper, Tucker Roper, Leigha Roper, Jax Roper, Barrett Roper.
