Milton Samuel Wolinsky

Obituary Date: Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Milton Samuel Wolinsky, age 90, passed away on March 7th, 2017 at Northside Hospital – Forsyth in Cumming, GA. He was born on December 1st, 1926 in Newark, NJ to Nathan and Lena (Barovsky) Wolinsky.

 

• joined the U.S. Army in 1945 and served in World War II. He was injured in a plane crash while serving on the Korean peninsula shortly after the end of the war and was

honorably discharged in 1946, achieving the rank of Captain.

• studied engineering at the University of Tennessee.

• worked as owner/proprietor of several businesses over the years including the first

Chattanooga-area franchise for Orange Julius located in the downtown area.

 

Milton married Dorothea DeMar in 1952 in Knoxville, TN. They were happily married for 64 years. As a member of the Chattanooga chapter of B’nai B’rith he served as president for several years. He also enjoyed wood working as a master craftsman and in later years working with computer publishing.

 

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan & Lena Wolinsky and his sister, Ella Tyber.

 

Milton is survived by his wife, Dorothea Wolinsky; his sons Mark (Vicki) Wolinsky of Cumming, GA; Dean (Angela) Wolinsky of Alpharetta, GA; Glen (Brenda) Wolinsky of Chickamauga, GA; his grandchildren Chuck (Stacy) Wildman, Ben (Laura) Wildman, Jessica Wolinsky, Megan Wolinsky, Kayla Wolinsky, Devin Wolinsky, and Taylor Wolinsky; his great-grandchildren Dreanna Wildman, Jacob Wildman, Drew Wildman, and Hannah Wildman; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

 

In deference to Milton’s and the family’s wishes, a private family memorial service will be held in Cumming, GA.
