Robert Terrell McLain

Obituary Date: Sunday, April 9, 2017

Mr. Robert Terrell McLain, 79, of Oakwood, GA passed away on Sunday, April 09, 2017 following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

A native of Hall County, Mr. McLain was born October 8, 1937, the son of the late Robert Lee McLain and Mary Dean Terrell McLain.  He retired as a dispatcher in the trucking industry with more than 34 years of service. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy and a member of Chicopee Baptist Church.

An avid fisherman and hunter, he held his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying planes as a hobby. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. McLain is preceded in death by his brother Earl McLain.

Mr. McLain is survived by his wife, Kay Bagby McLain of Oakwood; daughter and son in law, Lori McLain Myers (Mike) of Patricksburg, IN; daughter and son in law, Debbie McLain McCollum (Duane) of Gainesville; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; several step grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Kathy Smith Fox (Gary) of Bryson City, NC
