Harrison Charley Pierce

Harrison Charley Pierce, 81, of Flowery Branch passed away May 1, 2017 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Stewart, Rev. Gary Osteen and Madison Stewart officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Born on July 29, 1935 in Gainesville, GA he was the son of the late Luther “Doc” Pierce and Amy Giles Pierce.  Mr. Pierce was retired from Guilford Mills where he was a supervisor. Mr. Pierce was a member of Oakwood Gospel Tabernacle.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Pierce is preceded in death by Frank “Bud” Pierce, Rhoda Wyatt, Parilee Hardy, Ruby Brock, Christine Madden, Jessie Mae Farmer.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gwen Pierce of Flowery Branch; daughter and son in law, Connie and Bobby Tow of Flowery Branch; granddaughter and husband, Angie and Steve Stewart; great granddaughters, Madison Stewart, Lexi Stewart; brother and sister in law, Jim and Margaret Pierce of Lula; sister, Mamie Harper of SC; extended family, Barry and Bridget Conner, Brandon Conner, Emily Hembree, Conner Hembree and a number of nieces and nephews.
