Robert W. Beavers

Robert W. Beavers, age 70, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017.  He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Ellen Hooton Beavers, Lawrenceville, GA: children; son, Robert Walter, Jr.  ( Jackie Beavers) and daughter, Amanda Lea; grandson, Jonathan Edward Beavers; brother, Russell Thomas (Cindy Beavers); in-laws, Cecelia and Bob Hennig, Deveraux and Frank Boduch, Suzanne and Freddy Hester; and several nieces and nephews.  Bob was born November 12, 1946 in Henderson, NV to Peggy and Walt Beavers.  His early years were spent in Downy, CA until moving to Rockville, MD where he was a 1964 graduate of Richard Montgomery High School. He then attended Montgomery College in Rockville, MD, where he was a proud member of the varsity baseball team.  His love for baseball continued thru out his life, being an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves.  He was a retired engineer, having worked for Bechtel Power Company for 20 years in Rockville, MD before moving to Atlanta, GA.  While in Atlanta he was president of A.T.S Group in Tucker, GA, and Marketing Director for Merrick Company in Norcross, Ga.  Bob was a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, the Society for Marketing Professional Services and a member of the Board of Directors for the Hope Clinic in Lawrenceville, GA.  An accomplished artist, he served as past president of the Southeastern Pastel Society.  His passion for art and travel took him across the country where he was able to visit many famous art museums. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27^th, 2017, 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford , GA, with interment to follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 26^th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of a memorial gift to The Hope Clinic, 121 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
