Barbara Lathan Green Ward

Mrs. Barbara Lathan Green Ward, age 82, of Laura Drive in Martin, Georgia passed away Friday, June 2, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center; Gainesville, Ga.

A daughter of the late George Roy and Irene Koon Green, she was born March 10, 1935 in Lagrange, Georgia, lived for the majority of her life in the Atlanta area, and moved to Toccoa in 1997.  Mrs. Ward retired from the Jefferson Smurfit-Stone Corporation after thirty-two years of service.  She was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Douglas Ward.

She is survived by two sons Danny Ward and Scott Ward both of Martin, Ga., sisters, Louise Samples of Jackson, Ga. and Dianne Brooks of Royston, Ga., brother, Leon Green of Jonesboro, Ga., and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. from the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Elrod officiating. 

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. til 3:00 p.m.

A private interment will be at a later date in College Park, Georgia.
