Marcelle Ledbetter

Marcelle Ledbetter, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday June 25, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a short illness.

Born February 23, 1931 to the late Guy T. and Lela E. Gilreath, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  A homemaker at her death, she was formerly employed at Sweet-Orr and the Dawson County Board of Education.  Marcelle was very devoted to her family, her church and her community.  She enjoyed being outdoors and working in her flower gardens.  A member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hubert “Pete” Ledbetter, and a brother, Lloyd Gilreath.

Surviving are her children, Troy and Betsy Ledbetter, Jasper, Kay and Bill Mills, Cumming, Beth and Carlton Chester, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Travis Ledbetter, Nathan and Jessica Ledbetter, Andrew and Skylar Mills, Jed and Nicole Mills; great grandchildren, Trace Ledbetter, Kaitlin Ledbetter, Sarah Jo Mills; brothers and sisters in law, Morris and Peggy Gilreath, Gainesville, Donald Gilreath, Dawsonville, David Gilreath, Jasper, Jean Gilreath, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the remains placed in state at 1:30.  Rev. Rodney Pilcher, Rev. Jason Hamby, Rev. Clyde Boling and Rev. Gary Keown will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
