Elizabeth McDaniel Forrester

Elizabeth McDaniel Forrester, age 88, of Canton, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Samuel Forrester; and parents, Mark and Lucille Burnette McDaniel.

She is survived by her children, Dianne and Larry Odum, Jasper, GA, Danny and Drucila Forrester, Toccoa, GA, Donna and Bill Snellgrove, Marietta, GA and David and Melanie Forrester, Flowery Branch, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Donnis and Wendell Maddox, Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Tonia Odum Bagwell and husband, Muncie, Trent Odum and wife, Kim, Jason Forrester, Tomesha and Al Rohrig, Gretchen and Brian Sager, Caleb and Emily Darnell and Angel Forrester; seven great grandchildren;  nieces, Tanya Maddox Kuster and husband Dan and Tammy Maddox Gaddis and husband, Neal;  and several sisters-in-law and cousins. Mrs. Forrester was born May 31, 1929 in Buford, GA. She was the sweetest soul that loved the Lord and was a member of Buford Church of Christ. She retired from many years of service at K-Mart but loved her years as a homemaker. As a younger lady, she enjoyed traveling, country music and keeping up with current events. The family finds it so fitting that the Lord called her home close to the fourth of July. She was a true Patriotic American Lady.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Elizabeth McDaniel Forrester.
