Millie Dye

Obituary Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2017

Millie Dye, 72, of Brooksville, Florida, was surrounded by her family when she went to be with her Lord June 4th after a brief struggle with Cancer.

Millie graduated from North Hall High School in 1963 and was always a devoted Trojan fan. She later attended Cape Cod Community College. Millie married the love of her life, Ron, (Russ) Dye on May 22, 1966. They traveled around the country while they served their country in the US Navy. Upon Ron’s retirement from the service, they moved back to Gainesville, GA to spend time with family and enjoy being “home”.  She and Russ moved to Florida last year to enjoy retirement. They found a loving church family there at First Baptist Church of Brooksville and enjoyed their family and close friends with times sitting on the back porch.

During Millie’s life, she exceeded expectations no matter where she was. Later in life Millie managed several business offices and became owner and CEO of Diamond Mortgage and Investments.

Millie was a life-long member of Corinth Baptist Church where she grew up as a child and was dedicated to serving her church. She served on many committees including the most recent Pastor Search Team. She enjoyed fellowships on Sunday evenings with some of her closest friends that enjoyed dinner together. She loved her church home.  Millie enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. The word joy comes to mind as she spent much of her time loving and caring for Cayden, her only great grandson. He surely was the love of her life. Family was a very important part of her life.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Z. Henry Loggins and Aline (Stephens) Loggins.

Millie is survived by, her husband, Ron Dye and son, Russell Dye of Brooksville, FL; sisters, Louise Johnson and Irma Loggins, brother and sister in law, Henry and Beverly Loggins, all of Gainesville, GA; granddaughter, Taylor Dye, great grandson, Cayden Dye and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many close friends.

A memorial service for Millie will be held at Corinth Baptist Church on Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. with a time of visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corinth Baptist Church.
