Steve Whitehead, age 62 of Gillsville, GA passed into heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Athens, GA on Dec. 22, 1954, Mr. Whitehead was the son of Lottie Warren Whitehead and the late Tom Bell Whitehead.
He is a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and was currently attending Silver Shoals Baptist Church. He loved the University of Georgia Football and spending time with his grandkids and family.
Survivors in addition to his mother, Lottie Warren Whitehead of Winterville include his loving wife of 36 years, Gail Whitehead, of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Bruce Sheridan, Lula; son, Steven Whitehead, Gillsville; sisters, Peggy Hunt, Hull, Shirley Johnson, Carlton; 5 grandchildren, Zack Sheridan, Zoey Sheridan, Ashton Whitehead, Cole Whitehead and Luke Whitehead.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 am-1 pm Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
