Willie Jean Rumsey Wilbanks

Mrs. Willie Jean Rumsey Wilbanks, age 77 of 185 Queen Street, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Ralph and Lela Mae Murray Rumsey, she was born July 2, 1940 in Fairplay, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Toccoa.  She was a self-employed caretaker and was of the Mormon faith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wilbanks.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jean Burkett of Rex, Georgia, Maryann Wilbanks of Toccoa and Sue Wilbanks of Clarkesville; three sons, Andy England of Athens, Paul England of Stone Mountain and Jonathan England of Rex, Georgia; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Rumsey of Toccoa; two sisters, Ruth Gailey and Shirley Ridley both of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 17, 2017, 1 O’clock P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Bishop Clay Thomas and The Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Stanley Ridley, Robert Ridley, Toby Umberhant, Robert Gailey and Gary Sandercock.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 O’clock A.M until the service time.  Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Willie Jean Wilbanks.
