Obituary Date: Friday, September 22, 2017

Mr. Jake Sanders, 68, of Flowery Branch passed away Friday. September 22, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.  Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Phil Carpenter will officiate. Interment will follow in Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Born on August 2, 1949 in Andalusia, AL he was the son of James V. Sanders and the late Olene Hammett Sanders. Jake’s mother, Olene Sanders, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from an extended illness in Andalusia, AL following the death of her son Jake. Mr. Sanders was a Veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. He was general manager of Candler Concrete, a graduate of Johnson High School and he was a member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church. Jake was a strong man of faith, a prayer warrior, and delighted in serving the Lord.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his brother in law, Robert La Pann.

Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kinnie Sanders of Flowery Branch; daughter and her family, Lisa and Dana Garrison of Lula, Ryan and Laura Loggins of Oakwood, Austin Wilson of Clermont, Dayton Garrison of Lula and 2 great grandchildren; son and his family, Michael Seagraves of Flowery Branch, Sloane and Shawn Archer of Gainesville, Seth and Kristin Seagraves of Flowery Branch and 7 great grandchildren; son and his family, Phillip Sanders, Rebekah, James; daughter and her family, Susan and Buddy Stevens and Daisy; sons, Joshua and Matthew Sanders; father, James V. “Buddy” Sanders of Andalusia, AL; sister and brother in law, Earlene and Frank Lee of Midwest, OK; twin brother and sister in law, Jack and Mary Jane Sanders of Gainesville; sister, Merelene La Pann of Andalusia, AL; brother and sister in law, James and Lynn Sanders of Flowery Branch and 11 nieces and nephews.
