George A. Smith

George A. Smith, age 78, of Cumming, GA passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Mary Ann Martin Smith, Cumming, GA; son, Jerry L. Smith, Duluth, GA; sister, Ann Marie Kennedy, Abilene, TX; brother, Joe and Betty Smith, Massillon, OH; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Joe Hampton, Princeton, WV, Judy and Paul McCoy, Bowie, MD; brothers-in-law, James M. and Jane Martin, Bluefield, WV, William D. and Caroline Martin, Dallas, TX; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Smith was born in Morgantown, WV on August 21, 1939. He was a 1959 graduate of St. Francis High School in Morgantown, WV. He retired as Tradeshow and Convention Manager for Freeman Decorating Company and he was director of Drayage. He attended Sugar Hill Church in Sugar Hill, GA and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class with teacher Tom Moreland. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Strong officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the day of the service from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sugar Hill Baptist Church, 5091 Nelson Brogdon Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA 30518 in memory of George Smith.
