Winnie C. Smith

Winnie C. Smith, 75, of Dawsonville passed away Friday October 13, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born August 18, 1942 to the late Joseph T. and Lourain L. Chumley, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  Winnie was formerly employed at Sweet-Orr and Hasco, after which she worked for the Dawson County School System for almost 20 years until her retirement.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening and was of the Baptist faith.  Winnie was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph P. Smith; sisters, Dorothy Gentry, Gladys O’Bryant, Bonnie L. Thurmond; and brothers, Olin Chumley and Grover Chumley.

Surviving are her sisters, Beulah Thacker, Cleveland, Lois Keller, Stockbridge; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held Sunday October 15, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.  Rev. Lucas Ray will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
