Paul Monroe Shannon

Mr. Paul Monroe Shannon, age 70, of Nicholson died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his residence.  Mr. Shannon was born in Athens to the late, Cecil and Elizabeth Gunnells Shannon.  Mr. Shannon was a machine operator for M&P Grading and was also an Oconee County Deputy Sherriff; he also was a US Air Force veteran in the Vietnam War.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Shannon was also preceded in death by his brother, Marvin E. Shannon.

Mr. Shannon is survived by his wife, Patricia Page Shannon of Nicholson; daughter, Penny Meadows (Mitchell) of Nicholson; sons, Patrick Shannon (Janice) of Commerce and Paul Lee Shannon (Laura) of Deltona, FL; granddaughter, Jada Grace Shannon; brother, Terry Shannon (Tammy) of Colbert; sister, Martha Smith (J.C.) of Jacksonville, FL.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, Oct. 22nd at 3:00 PM from New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Stowers officiating with the interment following in the Nicholson Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church Sunday from 1-3 PM.
