Lewis P. Lord

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 Wednesday October 25, 2017 at 
Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel for Rev. Lewis P. Lord, age 95 of 
Gainesville. The Rev. Scott Tanner and Rev. James B. Hatcher will 
officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family 
will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 
funeral home. Rev. Lord passed away Saturday October 21, 2017. 

Rev. Lord was born May 5, 1922, in Jackson County to the late Myra 
Olivia Prickett and Lewis Carlton Lord. He was the former pastor of 
Tabernacle Baptist Church and the former associate pastor at Hillcrest 
Baptist Church. Rev. Lord was a faithful evangelist throughout his 
ministry and led many people to Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death 
by his wife, Evelyn McConnell Lord. 

Survivors include, son and daughter-in-Law, Luther M. Lord and Pamela 
K. Lord, Cartersville, sons, Philip Lewis Lord, Gainesville, Terry P. 
Lord, Gainesville, granddaughter, Julie Allison Lord, grandson, 
Timothy Lord (Amy) and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Northeast Georgia 
Medical Center Hospice nurses and other staff for their loving care of 
Lewis.
