Charles William Good

Obituary Date: Monday, October 23, 2017

Charles William Good was born at Hall Station, Pennsylvania, on July 28, 1928,  to his parents, Ellsmer and Angline Good.  Charles spent many of his early formative years before attending school with his grandmother Rhoda Schultz and thirteen cousins on the family farm.

Charles attended a two-room school house learning the basics.  Later, he attended Montoursville Middle School and High School where he was greatly involved in sports activities such as football. After graduation from high school, he attended Toccoa Falls College.  While attending TFC, he worked for the Letourneau Company in the electrical department for a few years.

In 1966, Charles and Ruth came to work at Toccoa Falls College where they worked for over thirty years.  During this time Charles attended and graduated from The University of Georgia in the area of counseling.  Later, he received a certificate in Marriage and Family therapy from UGA, as well as his doctorate in 1974, from Highland University. From 1977 to 1987, he was the Behavior Specialist at Stephens County Training Center.

In 1982, Charles opened Toccoa Counseling Center which has been helpful to many families in the area and nearby states.  He has supervised over ten individuals in the field of counseling which enabled them to be licensed as professional counselors in the State of Georgia.

He along with other Professional Counselors founded the organization of Professional Counselors in the State of Georgia.  He served on the Board of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia for over 10 years, and was elected president for the year of 1998.
