James Aaron Garrett

James Aaron Garrett, age 60 of Cornelia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 27, 2017.

Born in Demorest, Georgia on March 18, 1957, he was a son of the late Ernest Garrett & the late Myrtis Ward Garrett. James was an owner/operator with Garrett Trucking Company and retired after 30 years of service. He was an inventor of many things who often enjoyed tinkering with his truck. James loved any type of fishing, especially deep sea fishing. He also loved listening to any type of Blue Grass music and attended Alto Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include his sister & brother-in-law, Carolyn & John Fox, brothers & sisters-in-law, Charles Garrett, Randy & Jennifer Garrett, Ernie & Seresa Garrett all of Cornelia, GA; special life-long friend, Jane Garrett of Cornelia, GA; uncle, Buford Ward of Mt. Airy, GA; aunt, Agnes Moore of Young Harris, GA; nieces & nephews, Autumn Morris & Matthew Garrett of Cornelia, GA; Allen Fox of Alto, GA; Spencer & Avery Garrett, Maddie & Hudson Garrett all of Cornelia, GA; cousins, & many friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 01, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating.

Flowers are accepted or the family requests that all memorial donations be made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) https://secure.aspca.org/donate

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
