Marjorie Glenelle Jones Fouts

Obituary Date: Thursday, November 30, 2017

Marjorie Glenelle Jones Fouts, age 81, of Gainesville, Ga passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.  She was born to the late J.D. and Fannie Jones on May 21, 1936 in Lumpkin County, Georgia. She was a resident of Hall County, Georgia since 1942.  Marjorie graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1953, Perry Business School and attended Gainesville Junior College. Marjorie retired from the Hall County Health Department, WIC Program, in 1998.

Marjorie and her husband Ben enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.  She enjoyed genealogy, reading, and playing bridge with friends.  She was a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church, Northeast Georgia Historical and Genealogical Society, Colonel William Chandler Daughters of American Revolution, and General James Longstreet UDC Societies. 

Marjorie is survived by her son, Barclay Fouts and his wife Robin of Gainesville, and her daughter, Beth Hintze and her husband Ronnie, of Gainesville.  She leaves five grandchildren; Brad Bullard, Ben Bullard, Baileigh Bullard, Jasper Fouts, and Jesse Fouts.   

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Ben Fouts, her parents J.D. and Fannie Seabolt Jones, and brother Johnny R. Jones. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver, Wanda Sorrells Harrness, for her dedication to Marjorie’s care and comfort.  The family would also like to thank the staff at Lanier Lodge, Southern Companions, and Hospice of Northeast Georgia for their compassionate care. 

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Alta Vista cemetery.  Chris Robinson and Jeff Robinson will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation Association, 200 S.E. First St, Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131
