Mary Ellen Chambers (Ma) Rogers

Ma Rogers passed away early Friday morning at NGMC after an extended illness. 

She was preceded in death by her late husband Nelson and her daughter Mary. 

Ma was survived by her children: Nell, Charles, Betty, Tommy and Amy, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. 

Home and family were important to her and she loved many people as if they were her very own.

She was an active member of her church and community, and had a heart for the needy.  Ma was well known for her good cooking and showing her love for people by feeding them.  She took pride in being the oldest council member for her beloved town of Clermont and for keeping the sale of alcohol out of the city limits as long as she lived.

Her celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Christian Hill Baptist Church in Clermont.  Steve Armour, Marc Eggers, and Rev. Chris Bryant will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on January 1, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home in Clermont.
