Robert Edward Kennamer

Surrounded by his family, Robert Edward Kennamer, 95, of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Huntsville, AL, went home to be with his Lord January 12, 2018.  Born in Marshall County, AL to Patrick Henry and Ethel Taylor Kennamer on July 18, 1922, Bob lived most of his life in Huntsville.

Bob was a humble man who dearly loved his family. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, dogs, the lake and carpentry. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church, Huntsville, where he looked forward to mission work opportunities and helping to build churches in rural North Alabama. He loved the SEC, Alabama football and was able to enjoy watching the Tide win the latest National Championship!

Bob is survived by his wife of 72 years, Denna Jean, their daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Faron Thompson, grandsons, Roan and Jack Thompson, sister-in-law, Louise Fossett and numerous loving nieces, nephews and their families.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18 beginning at 1 p.m. with the Service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Huntsville, AL.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Bob be lovingly remembered with a donation to the Missions Foundation at FBC, Huntsville.

Finally, the family is grateful for the extra mile service of Jack Frost and the staff of Memorial Park Funeral Home – Gainesville, Georgia.
