Barbara R (Quick) Davison, 90, of Cumming, GA, and formerly of Marietta, GA, Hialeah, FL, and Jamestown, NY, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Cumming, GA. She was born July 25, 1927 in Black River, NY, the daughter of the late Morris Lee and Myra (Chase) Quick.
Barbara was a 1945 graduate of Jamestown High School, Jamestown, NY. Barbara had worked for Coca Cola in Atlanta, GA for twenty one years.
She also retired from the FAA and was the first female air traffic controller in Miami.
Barbara enjoyed foremost time with and loving on her family “a bushel and a peck with a hug around the neck”. She enjoyed gardening and cultural arts. Her smile is contagious.
She is survived by her five children: Thomas A. (Andra) Davison of Lehigh Acres, FL; Malcolm B. (Lisa) Davison of Independence, KS; Charles B. (Denise) Davison of Columbia, SC; William N. (Muriel) Davison of Cumming, GA; and Susan J. (Davison) Underwood of Gainesville, GA; sister-in-law Louise Quick, Westfield, NY; fourteen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brothers: Morris L. (Betty) Quick, Robert I. (Lois) Quick, and Charles E. Quick; sisters: Marjorie E. (Carroll) Newstrom and Helen L. (Julius) Habersin; grandchildren: Jenafer J. (Davison) Tyler and Aaron M. Davison; daughter-in-law Sandra L (Hugunin) Davison; and several other relatives.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 12 noon, at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville, NY. Grandson, Rev. Brad Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Chautauqua Cemetery, Chautauqua, NY.
The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service (10AM-12PM) at the funeral home.
